Choosing a Web Host

Choosing a Web Host

Now that you have your niche chosen, it’s time to choose a Web Host. Before you start searching for “free webhosting”… DON’T! You do not want free hosting, not if you are serious about making money online as an Affiliate Marketer.

There are several reasons why you don’t want to go this route, including the Webhost’s own Ads plastered everywhere on “your” site, limited disk space, limited bandwidth, limited email accounts, limited space for your own ads (if they allow you), limited customization, less website features, no cPanel, and more.

To be successful, you need to treat your business as a business not as a hobby. The old saying holds true here – “you must spend money to make money”. But you don’t have to spend a fortune. You can get very good web hosting for less than $10 “per month”. If $10 per month is tight consider checking out my “Search & Splurge” training where I show you how you can make between $20 and $200 per month, simply doing Google and Bing searches on your computer.

There are two Web Hosts that I am currently using and I feel confident recommending to you. They are Bluehost and D9 Hosting. Both are great but depending on your budget, one will be more feasible than the other. Let’s look at Bluehost first.

If you are on a tight budget and need to keep expenses at the bare minimum, Bluehost would be the way to go. If you choose their most affordable Basic Plan for $35.40 for the first year, you will only be allowed to have one website, 50 GB SSD storage, unlimited bandwidth, and 1 free domain name. Keep in mind, they play the same game almost every Web Host plays and shows you a “monthly” payment amount. This ticks me off. Why can’t these companies simply tell us how much we are going to pay at checkout. They show you what it breaks down to “if” you paid monthly. This is supposed to make it look like it doesn’t cost much. My wife and I were very poor not too long ago. There is a HUGE difference between paying $2.95/month and paying $35.40 up front. If you are living paycheck to paycheck, I know you can relate. Keep in mind this price is only for your first year. It will renew at $119.88/yr. after that. Still, Bluehost is an excellent choice to get started in Affiliate Marketing on a low budget.

If you have a larger budget, D9 Hosting would be the better option. And if you use the code SAVE40, you will save 40% off your “FIRST” payment. They do have an actual monthly payment of $9.95. You want to use the discount code wisely. I’ll get to that shortly.

D9 Hosting’s D9 One (basic) Plan, like Bluehost, offers 1 hosted website, but you get unlimited Disk Space, Unlimited Bandwidth, 5 email accounts, cPanel, and more. You don’t get a free Domain Name unless you pay for 3 years or you pick the next Plan up.

Now, back to the 40% discount on the “first” payment. If you go with the monthly plan, your discount will apply to the first payment. So, your first monthly payment would be $5.97 and then $9.95/mo. after that. If you went with the 1-year annual plan, your first annual payment would be $57.24 and then every year after that would be $95.40. This is less expensive than Bluehost after your first year. If you went with the Biennial Plan (2-years), your first payment would be $100.08 and then $166.80 every two years after that. And finally, if you went with the Triennial Plan (3-years), your first payment would be $128.52, and then $214.20 every three years after your first three years. As you can see, D9 Hosting will cost you a lot less after the first year. But it gets better; you will be presented with an upgrade offer to be hosted on SSD RAID 10 servers with less people on the servers, which means a faster website experience for your visitors, 2 GB RAM instead of 1GB, Lightspeed PHP Handler, and daily account backups with 30 restore points. All this for only $36 more on the 1-year plan. My sites on D9 load really quick because I purchased this upgrade.

I hope this helps you with your decision. Now, go sign up for Web Hosting and get your Domain Name.
